For many reasons last month was a drag. I spent it whiling away days, putting of projects, wishing time away and longing for the sun. Even when just a few things you really don’t want to deal with start to pile up it can become overwhelming. And when things go wrong it’s hard to think of anything at all that’s actually going well. So here’s an attempt to be positive. Five small things that make me smile, plus some links I’ve loved recently. Because it’s the little things…
It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through the year. Partly because I feel like I’ve got very little to show for it, and partly because it still feels like autumn here in London. But here we are.
June was a quiet month and it has dragged along for me. If I’m honest, it has also been tainted by the devastating results of the EU referendum last week and the subsequent chaos in UK politics which has left me and most people I know in a state of shock and grief.
But there were some good things to happen in June and it’s nice to take a moment to remember the little joys.
So it’s somehow June already. Not sure I’m quite happy with being half way through the year already, it comes around so quickly doesn’t it? I think May is one of my favourite months. I love the moment when it rains after a few days of sun and suddenly everything is green and luscious. I even noticed it in London this year, the area where I live burst into life seemingly overnight. This May was filled with a few short trips and trying to spend as much time outside enjoying the sunshine as possible.
