The last couple of weeks have been packed with trawling SpareRoom and viewing houses which is right up there with job-hunting on my list of things I hate doing. It has also been tragic few weeks for the world, and it’s hard to know how to be positive in times like this.
I’m trying to focus on some of the good things and these are some of the small things that having bringing moments of brightness to my days.
For many reasons last month was a drag. I spent it whiling away days, putting of projects, wishing time away and longing for the sun. Even when just a few things you really don’t want to deal with start to pile up it can become overwhelming. And when things go wrong it’s hard to think of anything at all that’s actually going well. It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through the year. Partly because I feel like I’ve got very little to show for it, and partly because it still feels like autumn here in London. But here we are.
June was a quiet month and it has dragged along for me. If I’m honest, it has also been tainted by the devastating results of the EU referendum last week and the subsequent chaos in UK politics which has left me and most people I know in a state of shock and grief.
But there were some good things to happen in June and it’s nice to take a moment to remember the little joys.
